| Day: 01 Tinjurey Day Trek |
In this trek you go for an easy day trek to Tinjurey - in Phambong-lho Wild Life Sanctuary. The trek starts from Tashi View Point at a distance of 8 km from Gangtok. It takes a few steep climbs with some stress and covers 5kms in about 2.5 hours. The trek goes through the forests of magnolia, maple and pine. The forest is also home to deer, leopards and many colourful birds. Enjoy the freshness of the surroundings as you proceed to the highest point at 2433m (7980ft) of the sanctuary. From the watch tower at Tinjurey Top, you can see a fascinating view of the Gangtok town and Tista Valley on one side and the towering Kunchenjungha peak on the Northern horizon. We will serve you packed food at Tinjurey . Spend a leisurely hour at the top of the hill and take some splendid photographs before coming back to Gangtok in the afternoon.
