Today after breakfast we will visit some most popular places in Pelling –
Darap village and Valley: The Village is inhabited mainly by People from Limboo Community and a small number of families from mixed communities. The landscape of the area is a moderately sloppy and gentle valley, unlike other locations in the west.
Kanchenjunga waterfall: This waterfall has its source in the famous Rathong-Chu glaciers at the foot of Mt. Kanchenjungha. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sikkim and is normally active throughout the year.
Rimbi Waterfalls & Karchen Power House: Adjacent to the falls is the Karchen hydro electricity powerhouse. It is the oldest in west Sikkim being constructed in the early 70s during the reign of the last Sikkimese King.
Khecheopalri Lake: Khecheopalri Lake, originally known as Kha-Chot-Palri (meaning the heaven of Padmasambhava), is a sacred Lake for both Buddhists and Hindus, which is believed to be a wish-fulfilling lake.
Further, proceed to –
Yuksom: A small village surrounded by mountain ranges, located at the head of the Khangchendzonga National Park.
Coronation Throne: Here, you can still see, the ruins of Norbughang, which is the throne of the first Dharma King (Chogyal) coronated by the three learned monks in 1641 AD.
